I love the history and folklore of quilts. They keep the lines of family, friends and folks connected in such a positive, comforting way. They serve as both an object of beauty and function.
I choose to hand quilt my quilts as I enjoy the imperfection of the human hand and spirit at work. The time, love and patience is there visually in the small stitches, one after the other. My goal is to translate the simplicity of my dot paintings into my hand quilting. I hope that the quilts I create become items treasured by families and passed down to future generations.
Campfire Quilts was born during a road trip from Texas to Canada with my family through the beautiful Rocky Mountains during the summer of 2013. The days were warm and the chilly nights by the campfire were welcomed with a quilt on my lap. Funny how the summer nights in Wyoming reminded me of the winter nights in Texas. A quilt is needed in all seasons!
